Hello lovelies! Welcome to my stop on the blog tour for Under Your Skin by Rose McClelland. I would like to thank Sandra at Booktamins for having me on the tour.
Blurb from the book:
When Kyle’s wife Hannah goes missing, the whole town is out in force to try to find her. One person knows where she is. One person is keeping a secret.
Detective Inspector Simon Peters and Detective Kerry Lawlor have been brought in to investigate the case, but Hannah has left no traces and Kyle has no clues.
Local Belfast resident, Julia Matthews, joins the #FindHannah campaign and becomes friendly with Kyle, sympathising with his tragedy. As Julia becomes more involved in the case than she bargained for, she begins to uncover more secrets than the Police ever could.
Julia was only trying to help but has she become drawn into a web of mystery that she can’t escape?
For McCelland who has only previously written chiclit books, she writes suspense novels like a pro!
In Under Your Skin we meet Kyle who has reported his wife (Hannah) as missing. As the police step up to start a search for Hannah, Kyle launch his own search using the hashtag #FindHannah to try and drum up some local support.
The story is told from differing points of view; Hanna, Kerry (the investigating officer), Kate (a local whose in invested in the #FindHannah campaign) and Julia (who is actively helping Kyle in his search for his wife).
We learn that Kyle’s marriage was not all rosy. He was extremely controlling of his wife and Hannah was afraid of him.
I devoured this book – read it in a day. Every character is flawed. Hannah is no angel, she turns to drink to obliterate the fact that she hates her life. But yet I really felt for her and was rooting for her to be ok. On the flip side, I absolutely detested Kyle!
McClelland pulls some twists on you that you absolutley do not see coming. If you want a great read this summer, buy Under Your Skin. It’s a smasher. I can’t wait for McClelland’s next offering!
